About Helena Bajaj Larsen
Stemming from several cultural backgrounds including France, India and Norway, Helena Bajaj Larsen's practice is anchored in the textural exploration of beauty found within the layers of an object’s materiality.
The visual vocabulary Helena is guided by began to form during her development of a senior thesis collection at Parsons School of Design in New York where a body of hand-painted silks reinterpreted her family's century-old relationship to Khadi fabric. The past few years were filled with diverse international making experiences among which working with artisans and championing craftsmanship has been a central focus.

Helena is specialized in hand-painted textiles and surface design based on traditional Indian natural fiber „Khadi“. The fabrics are dyed and painted by hand for a multidimensional effect that calls to mind abstract expressionism. She is composing an image using color, line, pattern, and get to decide how to create a balance between these elements.
